Learn About Self Improvement With Mini Goals – All You Need To Know

Mini goals are great for helping you to focus on the smaller, more significant accomplishments along the way to your main goal. When you break things down into tiny milestones, it becomes easier to stay on track. The key is to not set yourself up for failure. If you do, you will lose motivation and the energy that is needed to succeed. Here are some great ideas for keeping yourself on track with your mini-goals:

o Set Goals: Writing down your short term and long-term goals let you know exactly what you want to accomplish. You will be shocked by the difference this makes in your daily life. It also helps you break things down visually. So if you want to lose weight, write down that weight loss goal. If you want to achieve financial success, write down that financial goal. Either one of these goals can serve as a motivator to keep pushing forward.

o Visualize: This tip is incredibly important. I suggest that you visualize each mini-goals as though you are already working toward that goal. Imagine the steps you have to take to get there. Also, imagine that success is just around the corner. This tends to keep us motivated because we have a clear vision of what is ahead of us.

o Focus: Each goal should have a clear call to action. You need to tell yourself what you need to do each day to achieve your goal. Do not focus on “what ifs.” If you don’t keep focused, you will give up before you achieve your goal. So, rather than asking, “what if,” focus on “now.”

o Small Steps: All of your goals should have small steps towards them. For example, if you are trying to lose weight, you don’t want to try and complete a marathon in one day. The more gradual your progress, the easier it will be to keep going. So remember: all self-improvement mini-goals should have small steps towards them.

o Be Specific: You also want to make sure that your goals are specific. This makes achieving them much easier down the road. You don’t want to lose 20 pounds in two weeks, so instead write down how many pounds you want to lose. Then write down how fast you want to lose that weight. Once you have that written down, you can start researching until you find a diet product or exercise program that will help you reach your goal. Then you can apply the knowledge you have learned and start taking action.

o Be Proactive: This is the last part of this formula. Don’t sit around waiting for a magic wand to fall from the sky. Instead, keep working toward your goal each day. Even if you feel like you aren’t making any progress, keep going.

Mini goals are great because they provide the small, yet important, steps you need to move forward. As you move closer to your big goals, you can increase the difficulty of your mini-goals. They are also excellent for breaking up a long task into smaller tasks. So do use them. But always remember to set big goals in your plan, too!

When you reach the end of your mini-goals, check the chart to see how far you have come. Also, ask yourself if you still want to achieve your bigger goal. If you do, then add a new goal to your list. And don’t stop until you have reached all your goals. The reason why is because if you don’t, you will burn out and lose your motivation to achieve more.

So keep mini-goals to three or four goals and work on them one at a time. They are great self-improvement tools and if used correctly can make achieving your long term goals a lot easier. So put a little effort into them every day.

Bottom Line

You may also want to consider adding these mini-goals to your weekly or daily routine. So when you go to bed, even if it’s only for an hour, you are doing something to achieve your goals. Remember that self-improvement is a never-ending process. So keep at it and soon you will see your self-improvement.
